FULL BALANCED STEREO PREAMPLIFIER
The Strumento N°1 Evo Stereo Preamplifier is the ultimate tool for transmitting a flawless signal to any power amplifier, with extraordinary precision, dynamics, and speed—boasting a bandwidth greater than 1 MHz. Based on the original Strumento N°1, this latest evolution benefits from refined gain stages and newly redesigned output stages, perfected through countless hours of critical listening. Its chassis begins as a bespoke, ultra-high-grade aluminum casting. After CNC machining, each piece is carefully inspected and polished by hand. Critical areas receive additional treatment—such as shot peening and anodization—before a final silk-screening completes the striking finish. Inside, four toroidal transformers power the unit: two 75VA transformers for the main audio stages, one 25VA for the control circuits, and a 15VA unit for the logic board. All are shielded and epoxy-encapsulated to reduce interference. The power supply includes ultra-fast rectifiers and forty 680μF / 100V extra-low-impedance capacitors, shielded and vibration-damped to eliminate mechanical noise. A total of eight independent low-noise power stages feed the audio circuitry. Each amplification channel features fully balanced circuitry on its own dedicated PCB, using ultra-thick copper traces and pure copper bus bars for ground and power. After input selection and buffering, the signal reaches a key element: the volume control. Traditional attenuators often introduce variable impedance and degrade frequency response as volume changes. To solve this, Audia Flight developed a custom constant-impedance attenuator made of discrete components—low-noise metal-film resistors and relays—delivering a 127 dB range in 0.5 dB steps. This design ensures consistent performance across all gain levels and offers exceptional specs: 3 Hz–1 MHz (-3 dB) bandwidth and a slew rate exceeding 250 V/μs. The gain stage is Audia Flight’s exclusive Class A current-feedback design, powered by four independent regulated stages per channel—two for input, two for output—and enclosed in an aluminum box encapsulated in epoxy for thermal stability and isolation. The output stage uses Class A-biased MOSFETs and provides the drive capability to feed any power amplifier with authority and control. With the Strumento N°1 Evo, Audia Flight has redefined the possibilities of preamplifier design—delivering absolute sonic fidelity, stunning detail, and the emotional impact that only the finest audio engineering can achieve.
